Ventis MX4 Toxic Gas detector user guide – P2: Advanced Settings

Instructions for MX4 Toxic detector meter (Ventis MX4 – Industrial Scientific USA) – P2: Advanced installation

  • 1 – Press and hold Power (Open/Off/Mode) for about 3 seconds, then release, to open the source.
  • 2 – Check screen display. Brief display of Pump, Installation screen, software version screen. NOTE: If suction equipment is used, make sure the pump’s input is not congested
  • 3 – Countdown screen. Hold and hold the Power button (Open/Off/Mode) and Enter buttons for about 3 seconds at the same time and release to enter Configuration mode.
  • 4 – Screen enter the protection code. If the value is 000, the screen will NOT be displayed. If displayed, press Enter to edit the value if necessary.
  • 5 – LEL type installation screen. Press Enter to edit, if necessary. NOTE: If the LEL is changed, a failed calibration occurs; Machine re calibration required
  • 6 – Start screen value 0. Press Power (Open/Off/Mode) to skip 0 and proceed with calibration. Press Enter to start bringing it to 0 and proceed with the calibration.
  • 7 – Calibration mode selection screen Press Enter to edit the value, if necessary. (0 = Standard Calibration, 1 = Quick Calibration)
  • 8 – Low alarm point setting screen. Press Enter to start. For each flickering value: press Enter to edit the value, if necessary; Press Power (Open/Off/Mode) to install.
  • 9 – High alarm point setting screen. Press Enter to start. For each flickering value: press Enter to edit the value, if necessary; Press Power (Open/Off/Mode) to install.
  • 10 – TWA alarm point setting screen. Displays if a toxic gas probe is installed. Press Enter to start. For each flickering value: press Enter to edit the value, if necessary; Press Power (Open/Off/Mode) to install.
  • 11 – TWA period. Press Enter to edit the value as needed. Value range: 1 – 40 hours
  • 12 – STEL alarm point setting screen. Displays if a toxic gas probe is installed. Press Enter to start. For each flickering value: press Enter to edit the value, if necessary; Press Power (Open/Off/Mode) to install.
  • 13 – Gas calibration settings screen. Press Enter to start. For each flickering value: press Enter to edit the value, if necessary; Press Power (Open/Off/Mode) to install.
  • 14 – Watch settings screen. Press Enter to start. For each flickering value: press Enter to edit the value, if necessary; Press Power (Open/Off/Mode) to install.
  • 15 – Date settings screen. Press ENTER to begin. For each flickering value: press Enter to edit the value, if necessary; Press Power (Open/Off/Mode) to install.
  • 16 – Display mode settings screen. Press Enter to edit if necessary (0 = Number Mode, 1 = Text Mode)
  • 17 – Privacy settings screen. Press Enter to edit if necessary (0 = not activated/Disabled, 1 = activated/Open). If activated, the private style setting screen will display (0 = sound/speaker; 1= image/LED flashing)
  • 18 – Bump test area selection screen. Enter to edit if necessary (0 = not activated/Disabled
  • 1 = activate/Open). If activated, the screen that allows installation will appear in order. The change value is noted. Due to bump warning (0=no/off ; 1=warehouse/open) Bump test time (.5-7.0 days), Bump test percentage (50-99%), Bump test response time (30-300 seconds)
  • 19 – Alarm lock settings screen. Press Enter to edit as needed. (0 = Normal, 1 = Locked)
  • 20 – Zone Selection Screen 0. Press Enter to edit if necessary (0 = Do not activate/Disable, 1 = Activate/Open)
  • 21 – Calibration area selection screen. Press Enter to edit if necessary (0 = Do not activate/Disable, 1 = Activate/Open)
  • 22 – Alarm due to calibration. Press Enter to edit if necessary (0 = Do not activate/Disable, 1 = Activate/Open)
  • 23 – Calibration screen due to time setting. Enter to edit if necessary. Value range: 1-365 days
  • 24 – Protection code settings screen. Press Enter to edit if necessary, Value range: 000-999
  • 25 – Language selection screen. Press Enter to edit if necessary (E = English, F = French, D = German)
